The Costa neoRomantica, themed around Italian Milanese style, immerses passengers in a romantic ambiance from the moment they step on board, thanks to its Italian architectural décor. The ship offers a full range of entertainment facilities, including restaurants, bars, wine bars, cigar lounges, swimming pools, spas, gyms, duty-free shops, as well as KTV, nightclub dance floors, and a casino. This makes the vessel more than just a mode of transport—it’s like the largest resort at sea.

Refurbished and upgraded in 2012 with an investment of NT$3.5 billion, the neoRomantica features an Italian Milanese style paired with panoramic balcony décor, significantly enhancing its Italian elements, placing it in the premium category within the fleet. After its first visit to Taiwan in April of this year, the ship has been stationed in Japan, with Fukuoka and Tokyo serving as its home ports.

True to its name, the ship’s pure white Italian architectural décor gives off a romantic and elegant atmosphere. The warm and welcoming crew make passengers feel as though they’ve stepped into a foreign land. The cruise ship is essentially the “largest resort at sea,” offering an all-inclusive experience with food, accommodation, and entertainment covered. With 24-hour access to dining, leisure, and entertainment activities, the fun never stops all the way to your destination.

Since there are no cell towers at sea, internet access comes at a cost. On the neoRomantica, 1GB of data costs about USD 30. When internet is a luxury, it’s the perfect opportunity to break the habit of constantly checking your phone. A typical day aboard begins with simply relaxing on deck, enjoying the sea breeze and ocean views.

Costa Cruises is also renowned for its exciting and diverse onboard entertainment. Beyond bars, nightclubs, and KTV, there are plenty of activities organized on the ship. In addition to scheduled evening performances, there are themed parties, galas, cocktail events, and Captain’s Night, where guests are invited to dress up and join the festivities. After a day of fun, passengers can unwind at the spa or indulge in some retail therapy at the duty-free shops.

The six restaurants aboard the neoRomantica each feature unique décor styles. Take the Garden Buffet Restaurant, for example—it’s designed around a romantic white garden theme, adorned with lemon trees. The white architecture paired with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the deep blue sea elevates the dining atmosphere and whets the appetite.

The menu includes everything from steaks and seafood to pasta, burgers, fries, and a variety of buffets. Passengers can freely choose different restaurants each day to sample diverse cuisines, and there are also upscale Italian set meals available for an additional fee.

One must-try on the neoRomantica is the world’s only onboard wood-fired pizza oven. Why is it the only one in the world? For safety reasons, open flames are prohibited on cruise ships, so food is typically cooked using electric appliances. However, the neoRomantica was uniquely designed with the only safety-certified wood-fired oven at sea. As a result, passengers can enjoy authentic Italian wood-fired pizza—something you won’t find on any other cruise.
