Visit the Little Milky Way in the Mountains: Lavender Forest’s “Taichung Firefly Festival” Begins

Lavender Forest in Xinshe, Taichung, home to Taiwan’s most iconic scenic restaurant, has now entered firefly season. The park is hosting the Xinshe-exclusive “Taichung Firefly Festival,” which kicked off today. Visitors can explore the little Milky Way in the mountains by registering on-site at 5 PM for a guided tour.
The evenings of April and May are the best time for firefly watching, so Lavender Forest has organized ecological guided tours. Tour times are subject to on-site announcements. Visitors only need to register at 5 PM and pay a NT$50 fee to participate. Each day has a limited number of spots available, and the event may be canceled in case of bad weather. The park has also set up a glow-in-the-dark market where visitors can shop and enjoy snacks while admiring the fireflies.
