Iceberg-Inspired Environment & World’s Largest Penguin Conservation Center Opens at Detroit Zoo

The World’s Largest Penguin Conservation CenterPolk Penguin Conservation Centerhas recently opened at the Detroit Zoo, housing around 80 penguins. Penguin lovers should definitely consider a visit!

According to Lonely Planet,the environment in the conservation area is impressive, mainly featuring a massive aquatic zone with 320,000 gallons of water—ten times larger than the previous space. The design is primarily based on the penguins’ natural iceberg habitat.
One great viewpoint is from the outdoor plaza looking into the penguin area, where you can fully take in the waterfalls and icebergs. Essentially, the penguin conservation center ticket also allows visitors to explore the Detroit Zoo.
