Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
The family banquets hosted by Wang Xuanyi, former consultant of Yado Regent Tianxianglou, have always been highly anticipated events in media and artistic circles. From May 2 to May 31, Yado Regent Tianxianglou is launching the “Revived Xuan Yi Banquet,” featuring all 14 signature dishes once served at the royal family’s gatherings—including Braised Beef, Buddha’s Delight, Vegetarian Chicken from the Wang Family, Sea Cucumber with Tendon, Herb-Steam Sea Fish, Red Bean Taro Puree, and more. In addition to individual set meals priced at NT$1,600+10% and NT$2,000+10%, a table meal package priced at NT$18,000+10% is also available.
As for the Tianxianglou at SOGO Zhongxiao Branch, a slightly adjusted version of the “Xuan Yi Family Banquet” is also available from May 9 to May 31, mainly offered as 4-person and 10-person table meals starting from NT$4,800+10%. Diners can savor the exquisite flavors of the Braised Beef and, by adding a serving of the famous Hangzhou dish—Deep-Fried Crispy Tofu Skin—they will receive a complimentary copy of the book *State Banquets and Family Feasts*.
Yang Guangzong, head chef of Yado Regent Tianxianglou, stated that although the meals hosted by consultant Wang Xuanyi are called family banquets, every dish reflects the immense care and dedication of the host. From ingredient selection and cleaning to preparation and cooking, the process is even more time-consuming and labor-intensive than in a restaurant. This includes the Braised Beef, which requires three days of intricate preparation, the Red Bean Paste that is hand-stirred for nearly three hours, the Buddha’s Delight where each ingredient is seasoned and cooked in batches, and even the debut use of exotic ingredients and spices—all of which pose significant challenges to the hotel’s Chinese restaurant.
