A dolphin mom celebrates her first Mother’s Day – Kenting Marine Park prepares a seafood feast!

The dolphin mom “Baomei” at Kenting Marine Park gave birth last July, and this year marks her first Mother’s Day. The park specially prepared a “top-tier, abundant seafood feast” recently, with calories and ingredients carefully selected to celebrate the occasion. Many children also visited that day and drew cards for Baomei on-site, happily sharing that it was their first time celebrating Mother’s Day with a dolphin, leaving unforgettable memories.

Baomei “became a mom for the first time” last July. Her baby dolphin “Dumai,” after more than nine months of meticulous care by his mother, has grown strong and healthy. To reward Baomei for her hard work, the park specially prepared a luxurious and hearty seafood feast recently. Both the ingredients and calorie content were carefully chosen by caretakers and veterinarians to ensure she eats happily and healthily.

The marine park also invited children who visited that day to draw cards and send blessings to Baomei on-site. The kids happily said, “It’s our first time celebrating Mother’s Day with a dolphin!” After seeing the hardworking dolphin mom, they also learned to be more filial to their own mothers. The park stated that there are many other animal moms in the park, such as octopuses, gobies, and clownfish, and caretakers have also prepared various Mother’s Day gifts for them.

Wu Fangrong, general manager of the marine park, also said, “Marine animals and creatures nurture the next generation in different ways, allowing nature to thrive continuously. We should place even greater importance on marine conservation. The ocean is the mother of the Earth—let’s protect it together.” Visitors to the marine park in May will not only receive small thank-you cards for moms but also enjoy various promotions, such as a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer for parent-child meal sets purchased in May 2017, giving moms a unique Mother’s Day experience.
