Jingzijiao Tile-Pond Salt Fields

The “Jingzijiao Tile-Pond Salt Fields” is the first salt field in Beimen District, established in 1818 and boasting a history of about 200 years. It is the oldest surviving salt field site. The rows of salt pans, resembling small hills, offer a healing white landscape no matter the angle. Moreover, the most famous feature of the Jingzijiao Tile-Pond Salt Fields is the breathtaking view at sunset when sunlight bathes the salt pans—mesmerizing from any perspective.

Its minimalist, all-white exterior exudes a strong exotic vibe, which becomes even more enchanting with the reflection on the water. This dreamy setting attracts many couples for wedding photos, creating unforgettable romantic memories. In addition, the surrounding area features other scenic elements such as European-style painted walls and a Mediterranean-style bell tower, making it a carefully crafted wedding photo destination in the Beimen area.

Madou Tienhou Temple (Madou Dai Tian Wang Miao)

If you want to experience a bizarre journey where your emotions go up and down like a trip from heaven to hell, don’t miss the Heaven and Hell exhibit at Madou Tienhou Temple. Built in 1979 (the 68th year of the Republic of China) with an investment of nearly 100 million NTD, the exhibit is designed inside the body of a 76-meter-long, 7-meter-high dragon. In the Hell section, you can see the 18 types of judgment by the King of Hell, which is spine-chilling. In contrast, the Heaven section features fairies dancing and serving tea, creating a striking and fascinating contrast.

Laotanghu Art Village

Covering an area of about 3 hectares, Laotanghu Art Village was created by its owner, Mr. Kuang, who spent over 10 years collecting old building materials from demolished houses around the region. He meticulously reassembled them brick by brick into what it is today. With thatched roofs and numerous red-brick sanheyuan (traditional courtyard houses), adorned with large red lanterns, the village intentionally preserves a dilapidated style rather than being overly artificial. Being here allows you to appreciate the weathered textures shaped by time, as if frozen in the 1950s.
