Known as the Garden City, Singapore has recently gained global Instagram fame with its rooftop infinity pool at a hotel. Now, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall has officially opened to the public, and it’s poised to become another must-visit attraction for travelers.

The indoor waterfall, named “Rain Vortex,” is 40 meters high and located in the center of Jewel Changi Airport, the airport’s newest building. The structure emphasizes green design, featuring a highly transparent glass roof and abundant greenery that transforms the interior into a forest-like environment (hence the name “Forest Valley”).

In fact, Jewel Changi also offers a 23-meter-high suspended walkway, a hedge maze, a mirror maze, a fantasy slide, as well as restaurants, shops, a cinema, and a hotel. It’s worth noting that these facilities are open to the public, not just air travelers, though most are still under construction and will open later.

Jewel Changi is a 10-story complex, with five levels underground and five above ground. It includes an unmanned Skytrain that connects to the existing three passenger terminals, as well as services like check-in and luggage storage. The building cost SGD 1.7 billion (approximately HK$9.8 billion) to construct and was designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie, who also designed the rooftop infinity pool at Marina Bay Sands. Singapore Changi Airport has been ranked the world’s best airport for seven consecutive years.
