I was genuinely so shocked and moved to tears (?), which even scared my travel companion. Actually, there are many affordable accommodations in Greece. However, these tend to be in more remote locations, so you can’t watch the sunset from your own terrace. But don’t worry — just head to the famous Oia Street in Santorini to see it!?
But because people from all over the world come to Greece to witness the Santorini sunset, it gets super crowded during dusk (no exaggeration)! If you don’t want a sea of heads blocking your view, I highly recommend arriving early to secure a good spot.

For those of you with a higher budget, I suggest booking a cave house with an Aegean Sea view. That way, you can enjoy the sunset from your own private terrace without having to fight the crowds on the main street.
Can you tell? Because hotels in Santorini are built along the layered terrain of the mountains, rooms located further in are called cave houses. And thanks to the sloped landscape, most of these accommodations come with terraces (yay!), allowing you to enjoy the sunset in privacy — it’s truly an amazing experience.

3. Choose a Sea-View Room in Fira or Imerovigli
On this trip, I stayed in a sea-view room with a terrace — I highly recommend this type of accommodation. It’s perfect for honeymooners or couples in love, as the whole Aegean Sea becomes your personal runway (where exactly are you planning to strut?).
Watching the sunset change in Greece made me realize that sunsets aren’t just one color. They’re a blend of orange-red, golden-yellow, pink, indigo, lilac, and many other hues. Add in Greece’s signature blue skies, and every second brings a new shade as the clouds shift — just as everyone says, it’s truly moving. (Hey, it’s not just me being emotional!)

4. Take a Boat Trip Out to Sea
Watching the sunset out at sea by boat is absolutely different from seeing it from the island. The huge Greek-style sunset, paired with the Aegean Sea right before your eyes. When the pinkish-orange rays of the setting sun spill over you, you might just think you’re in heaven.
The perspective is roughly like this (meaning taking a small boat out to sea from a distance), where others watch from high up, and you’re viewing it from sea level.
If you want a romantic moment just for two, you can also opt to charter a boat (it’s crazy romantic for a proposal). Whether you want to stay for dinner or enjoy champagne alone, tour companies offer all kinds of packages, which of course come with varying prices.
