Nestled within the bustling Old Street of Daxi, Taoyuan, the Yao Tea House – a hidden homestyle cuisine spot inside Xie Sheng Woodworking – is a well-kept secret known only to foodies and woodworking artisans. Upon entering, the space resembles a woodworking exhibition center, making it hard to associate with fine dining — until you discover the hidden gem tucked deeper inside.

This century-old house reveals traces of history and the passage of time in every corner of the woodworking shop. Beautiful wooden crafts are scattered throughout, and the giant wooden screen at the entrance, paired with Buddhist statues, creates a serene and elegant atmosphere.

After admiring the various wooden displays, travelers must walk through the traditional narrow street-front shop to reach the Yao Tea House – Homestyle Cuisine in the middle rear area, where an entirely new world awaits.
