Taiwan's first Sarawak Jungle Action Train officially launched in early April this year. To support the Sarawak tourism promotion campaign, the Sarawak Tourism Board has introduced a Sarawak travel bus that cruises through the bustling urban jungle of Taipei. The public can learn about eco-tours in Sarawak and get an up-close look at pristine jungle wonders that are usually only seen on Discovery Channel.
Known as the “Land of the Hornbills,” Sarawak boasts the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. Its unique geography nurtures a rich diversity of wildlife and several record-breaking natural wonders, including the world’s largest Rafflesia flower, the largest cave, and the longest tree-top canopy walkway. To give Taiwanese travelers an authentic nature experience, the Malaysia Tourism Board, Sarawak Tourism Board, Malaysia Airlines, MASwings, and Dragon Travel jointly launched the “Golden Sarawak – Rainforest River Cruise, Jungle Walk, and Mulu National Park Exploration 5-Day Tour” and the “Golden Sarawak – Asia’s Amazon, Mulu Miri Discovery 5-Day Tour” to uncover the mysteries of the rainforest ecosystem.
The Golden Sarawak package includes: Bako National Park, which features millennia-old rainforests and is the oldest in Sarawak; close encounters with orangutans, proboscis monkeys, silvered langurs, and over 150 species of rare birds, plus the chance to witness the world’s largest Rafflesia flower bloom in silence; as well as exploring the Sarawak Cultural Village, known as a living museum, where you can experience the vibrant spirit of Malaysia’s jungle people.
