The world-renowned Shanghai World Expo has officially commenced this year, featuring nearly 200 national pavilions, over 50 international organization pavilions, and 18 corporate pavilions, showcasing various perspectives on “city” through concepts like technology, environmental protection, and new lifestyles. Strolling through it feels like visiting the United Nations. From May 1 to October 31, in addition to viewing the architecture and various novel facilities, participating in a “summer camp” at the Expo has become an alternative way to travel as well.

The "2010 Shanghai Expo 'America Live' International Summer Camp" runs from July 7 to August 7, offering two different schedules. It takes place at Shanghai Dongfang Green Boat Earth Village, China’s largest off-campus youth activity base. Students are grouped into different classes based on age and English proficiency levels. Through a variety of lively and fun activities, the program aims to enhance students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while Carnegie training courses help develop leadership abilities.
This summer camp combines the hottest attraction of 2010—the Shanghai Expo—allowing students to visit pavilions from different continents and experience the beauty of the world. The curriculum is not limited to English learning but also incorporates highlights from various countries. Students from the U.S. also take Chinese language courses here, joining Taiwanese children in diverse summer activities.
