Summer is all about non-stop shopping and eating – and Kaohsiung is the perfect place for that. The "2010 Kaohsiung Shopping & Food Festival" kicks off with a concert on the afternoon of July 31 and runs for three weeks, inviting everyone to join the vibrant energy in Kaohsiung. In addition to gourmet awards and dining discounts, there are also lucky draws for big prizes like cars and five-day trips to Phuket – such an amazing event is not to be missed.

The opening concert will take place at 4:30 PM on July 31, featuring performances by spokesperson Van Fan and other artists in a four-hour non-stop music extravaganza. The "2010 Kaohsiung Shopping & Food Festival" will first be highlighted by the "Yi Ya Food Festival," with themes including "Veterans Village Gourmet Awards," "International Cuisine Awards," and "Traditional Cuisine Awards," allowing the public to sample the diverse and delicious food offerings in Kaohsiung.
Participants can pick up the "Eat, Shop & Good Flavor" discount booklet, which includes discounts from 220 restaurants and special offers from 30 hotels. Kaohsiung’s 13 department stores have also joined forces to launch a grand shopping lucky draw, offering prizes worth up to NT$500,000 for a car, NT$300,000 for a high-end appliance, NT$200,000 in luxury goods, and five-day trip tickets to Phuket – definitely more generous than the prizes offered throughout the year.

The grand finale closing concert, "Hallyu Wave," is also not to be missed, featuring performances by Korean idol groups such as Wonder Girls, 2PM, MBLAQ, JYP, and miss A. The event will take place at Kaohsiung Arena on August 22, bringing an unprecedented "Korean wave" to the city.
