The Kinmen National Park Headquarters will hold the Kinmen Tunnels Music Festival on October 16 and 17 this year, featuring performances by cellist Zhang Zhengjie among others, bringing visitors a romantic and elegant musical feast. Registration and participation are open starting September 1.
The year 2009 marked the 60th anniversary of the “Battle of Guningtou.” The Kinmen National Park Headquarters specially invited renowned cellist Professor Zhang Zhengjie to hold the nation’s first 【Guningtou Peace Prayer Concert】 at “Kinmen Zhaishan Tunnel.” This year, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters has once again invited Professor Zhang to host the 【2010 Kinmen Tunnels Music Festival】 at “Zhaishan Tunnel.” Compared to last year’s two performances, this year’s festival has expanded to six concerts. Professor Zhang Zhengjie will again serve as the artistic director. In addition to his cello performance, the lineup includes dizi (Chinese flute) player Wu Zongxian, harpist Hong Qimei, as well as the formation of a string quartet with Taipei Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster Jiang Zhiyi, principal viola He Junheng, and rising violinist Liang Xianwen.
Due to the unique nature of the Zhaishan Tunnel venue, to ensure the safety of all attendees, each session is limited to 300 participants and will be accessed via a pre-registration system. All individuals aged 10 and above are welcome to attend. Those aged 10–12 must be accompanied by an adult. Additionally, due to the humid conditions in the tunnel, elderly individuals should ensure their mobility is safe before registering. Registration and participation are open starting September 1, and can be completed online through the registration system. For those submitting via fax, please send your registration details (name, date of birth, ID number, contact number, address, check-in location) to the dedicated line 082-31318. Alternatively, you may register directly by phone with staff at 082-313186 (Interpretation Section). Early registration is encouraged for those interested.
