The annual "Ride the Northeast Corner - Fulong Cycling Excursion" event is set to kick off on September 18th and run until October 10th. In addition to the bike ride and gift exchange, this year features many thoughtful mini-events, including a "Two Rails Go Together" enhanced experience for the "Gongliao–Neiliao" route, a "Tunnel Concert," and a "Bike & Me, 100% Healthy" photo campaign where participants can win attractive prizes by taking pictures with the designated background.

Everyone has heard of the Taiwanese folk song "Diu Diu Tong," and the train tunnel mentioned in the song is the "Old Caoling Tunnel" between Fulong and Shicheng, which was the longest tunnel during the Japanese colonial period.

This event features three classic routes totaling approximately 20 kilometers: the "Dongxing Temple Route" (one-way about 1 km), the "Fulong Yanliao Route" (one-way about 4.5 km), and the "Old Caoling Tunnel Route" (one-way about 4.5 km). Completing all routes takes about 2 to 3 hours. To promote the concept of eco-friendly and low-carbon recreational sports, the organizers, in collaboration with Giant Bicycles, have planned an approximately 30-kilometer exploration route — the "Gongliao–Neiliao Line" — on September 18 (Sat), 19 (Sun), 25 (Sat), and 26 (Sun) for cyclists to explore additional scenic spots beyond the original three routes.

During the event, the organizers have specially partnered with Taiwan Railways to operate a "Two Rails Go Together" shuttle train (departing from Taipei’s Wanhua Station at 07:00 on event days), encouraging the public to bring their bikes and take the train to Fulong, or ride bikes after arriving by train, promoting eco-friendly travel through the combined use of train and bike.

Caoling Ancient Trail is not only a great spot for hiking but also features a bicycle path, making it a perfect destination for outdoor exercise and leisure in the northern suburbs.

Additionally, to encourage visitors to actively participate in the "Fulong Cycling Excursion" and take commemorative photos, the organizers have launched the "Bike & Me, 100% Healthy" photo campaign. From September 18, 19, 22, 25, 26, October 2, 3, 9, and 10, participants can take three photos of themselves and their bikes with a "100" formation against the backdrops of Guishan Island, Longmen Suspension Bridge, or Dongxing Temple. Present the photos at designated locations for staff verification to redeem a beautiful gift.
