Merlin Entertainments Group, an entertainment company with fans around the world, plans to open Madame Tussauds in Bangkok on December 4, 2010. This latest attraction, with an investment of 500 million Thai baht, will be the 10th Madame Tussauds globally and the third in Asia—joining those in Hong Kong and Shanghai—and the first in Southeast Asia.
Situated on the sixth floor of Siam Discovery Shopping Mall, Madame Tussauds Bangkok is a must-visit attraction for all travelers. Its modern design and eye-catching architecture will make it a new landmark in the Siam area.
Like other branches, Madame Tussauds Bangkok will feature 70 internationally and locally renowned historical figures, global leaders, as well as celebrities from arts and sciences—such as Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth II, Thailand’s third Prime Minister Field Marshall Plaek Pibulsonggram, Beethoven, Einstein, and Thailand’s royal poet Sunthorn Phu. It will also showcase world-famous movie stars, singers, and athletes including Michael Jackson, David Beckham, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie.
Bangkok’s nightlife is also vibrant. Shown here is the famous backpacker haven, Khao San Road.
A complete interactive experience and wax figures will be unveiled on opening day within the 2,000-square-meter attraction, details of which remain strictly under wraps for now.
