Nishimeji Chestnuts are among the largest chestnuts in Japan, grown in the Kakunodate region of Akita Prefecture in northeastern Japan. The peak harvest season is from September to December each year. During this period, a large-scale Nishimeji Chestnut event is held, inviting various shops to participate and launch highly popular desserts and seasonal limited-edition products, allowing the public to enjoy the taste of these extra-large chestnuts.

Participating shops display the Nishimeji Chestnut event banner at their entrances, as seen here at the shop “Inaho.”

Petits Fraises (プチフレ) is a popular local cake shop. The first floor offers a variety of cakes, handmade cookies, éclairs, chocolates, and other desserts and souvenirs, while the second-floor seating area serves coffee and light meals. The shop’s popular items, such as chestnut éclairs and Mont Blanc cakes, often sell out quickly, and limited-edition products are also introduced during special holidays.
