Remember that floating Earth that everyone was rushing to photograph at the “2019 Hsinchu Celebrate the New Year” art light festival? The floating Earth “Gaia” is an artistic installation created by British artist Luke Jerram. After being exhibited at the Hsinchu City Lantern Festival, now “Gaia” has floated over to Hong Kong to continue its journey！

The latest exhibition location of the “Gaia” art installation is in Lee Tung Avenue, Wan Chai, and in Qianxinan, Tsuen Wan. The Hong Kong exhibition also specially invited Yusuke Hatano, the Best Original Film Score Composer at the Hong Kong Film Awards, to compose music for “Gaia,” combining this beautiful and meaningful art installation with music for the exhibition.

In addition to the original music, the Hong Kong version of “Gaia” also features a spinning effect, rotating for up to 4 minutes at a time, allowing everyone to admire the Earth from 360 degrees and various angles.

This “Gaia” art installation has a diameter of 7 meters, which is 1.8 millionth the size of the real Earth. The Earth’s image is officially authorized by NASA. Standing 211 meters away from the artwork to view “Gaia” is equivalent to seeing the Earth from the surface of the moon, allowing people on Earth to appreciate our beautiful planet “Earth” from an astronaut’s perspective.
