Have you ever seen an A Cappella performance live? Without any instruments, all the music is created purely by the performers' voices, allowing the audience to experience the pure beauty of harmony. On Saturday, March 26th, the Taiwan Choral Music Center has gathered 24 local A Cappella groups to perform in relay along Xiangdi Boulevard at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in Xinyi District. Six continuous hours of amazing performances are guaranteed to be a treat for your ears!

Zhu Yuanlei, the Popular Arts Director of the Taiwan Choral Music Center, said: “Innovation, sharing, and service are the core principles and goals of the Choral Center in promoting new choral music. We hope to start with choral singing, and also invite the international professional group ManSound from Ukraine to perform together, aiming to bring even more surprises to the public.”

In addition to the outdoor singing event on Xiangdi Boulevard on March 26th, there will also be masterclasses, concerts at the CPC Corporation Taiwan’s Guoguang Hall, and 20 tour performances as part of the 2011 Spring Choral Festival. Participating groups span three generations—young, middle-aged, and senior—and involve over 150 performers. This impressive lineup includes creative and energetic university groups, junior high students from Erchong Junior High School—the youngest average age being under 13, the double-chin male choir with an average age over 47, and the Ukrainian male vocal ensemble ManSound—all performing together to make a lovely weekend afternoon even more memorable.
