Japan’s Nikon stated: “In order to meet the camera market demands of the next decade, the ‘Nikon 1’ was created. Research has found that many consumers are not satisfied with existing camera products, but instead hope for cameras that are simpler, more convenient, and also offer high image quality.”
The “Nikon 1” series is the lightest and smallest compact digital SLR camera, featuring simple operation and ease of use, along with a sleek and fashionable design that is truly captivating. Its functionality can rival that of digital SLR cameras, not only offering faster autofocus but also supporting Full HD 1080P video recording at 60 frames per second, as well as ultra-high-speed video recording at up to 1200 frames per second, meaning it can autofocus while recording video and take photos simultaneously.

Additionally, the “Nikon 1” innovatively introduces the “Motion Snapshot” function, which records images before the shutter is pressed, ensuring users don’t miss exciting moments. The “Smart Photo Selector” function automatically selects the five clearest and best-composed photos out of 11 continuous shots taken by the camera. Equipped with the Expeed 3 image processing system capable of handling 600 million pixels per second and the newly developed CX-format image sensor, it can achieve a burst shooting speed of up to 60 frames per second. Notably, when paired with an F-mount adapter, the “Nikon 1” can support approximately seventy different types of NIKKOR lenses, as well as external flashes and GPS, showcasing its powerful expandability.
The “Nikon 1” series is set to officially go on sale on October 20th, with pre-order activities to be announced later on the www.coolpix.com.tw website.
