Club Med has signed a cooperation agreement with Guilin Yuzi Paradise to establish its second resort in China in Guilin, Guangxi Province. The resort will target family travelers, offering refined all-inclusive holiday services and facilities. It is expected to begin trial operations for one season in August 2012, and will open year-round in 2013 with Club Med-brand-standard facilities and services.

In 2010, Guilin attracted over 20 million domestic Chinese tourists and 1.4 million international visitors. Located in Guangxi Province in southern China, Guilin is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and ranks among China’s most popular tourist destinations. Additionally, Guilin is highly accessible—direct flights from Taiwan to Guilin International Airport take just two hours, and the Club Med resort is just a 45-minute drive from the airport.

Club Med is also currently planning three other resorts in China—one focused on sun-and-beach experiences and two on cultural exploration—aiming to have five resorts in China by 2015. The Chinese market is expected to become Club Med’s second-largest global market after France.
