The Gold Museum is presenting a special exhibition of artworks by artists from the Water-Gold-Nine region from now until January 8 of the 101st year, titled "Mountains and Clouds Rise – Ink Painting Exhibition by Liao Xueyu," showcasing 18 ink paintings by local artist Liao Xueyu. Liao Xueyu’s ink paintings are filled with a deep sensitivity to the natural sky and heavens, perfectly mirroring the misty and ethereal mountain cityscape of Water-Gold-Nine during this season.

Liao Xueyu is from Taichung, born into a simple farming family, and her upbringing nurtured her innate affection for mountains, water, and nature. After studying abroad in the UK, volunteering internationally with Bellini, and traveling through India, she chose to settle in the mountain town of Jiufen over a decade ago. By chance, she began studying calligraphy and painting under artist Li Xiaokun. The 18 paintings exhibited in this show reflect Liao Xueyu’s state of mind toward the natural scenery of the Water-Gold-Nine mountain city over the past three years, rich in Zen-like meaning.

The Gold Museum holds solo exhibitions for local artists from the Water-Gold-Nine region every year, and this "Mountains and Clouds Rise – Ink Painting Exhibition by Liao Xueyu" marks Liao’s first solo exhibition. Through her 18 ink works including "A Corner of Jiufen," "Homeward Journey," and "Listening to the Spring Under the Pines," viewers can appreciate the beauty of the mountain city as seen through the artist’s eyes.
