Located in Shikoku by the Seto Inland Sea in Japan, besides its rustic charm and stunning beaches, the region is also world-renowned for its locally produced udon noodles, known as "Sanuki udon." UDON HOUSE is a local noodle shop combined with a guesthouse, presenting regional features through an innovative model and aiming to offer travelers a completely unique experience.

In recent years, Japan has faced an aging population and an outflow of working-age people to big cities. In Kagawa Prefecture, there are many dilapidated or even abandoned houses, and UDON HOUSE is one of them. Conveniently located near the train station, with a flat terrain and ample space, the old building was given new life after renovation.

The renovated UDON HOUSE has been given a new lease on life.

UDON HOUSE is situated on Shikoku Island in western Japan, in Kagawa Prefecture. It transformed an 80-year-old traditional house into a combination of a noodle shop and a guesthouse, allowing the local udon noodle culture to be shared with visitors through this warm, historic space.

The interior of UDON HOUSE has a strong old-house vibe.

Guests staying at UDON HOUSE can not only spend the night in a historic Japanese house and enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese residence, but also go downstairs to learn how to cook udon noodles from the master.

Of course, UDON HOUSE itself is also a noodle shop.

UDON HOUSE hopes to pass on the culture and craftsmanship of udon noodles to the younger generation and travelers from around the world. It also looks forward to everyone coming to Shikoku to fully experience the local customs, culture, and history.

The spaces within the guesthouse are designed with great attention to warmth.
