The “Farewell to 100, Welcome 101” North Coast Fugui Cape New Year’s Eve Carnival will be held from December 31, 100 (2011), to January 1, 101 (2012). In addition to enjoying the cozy warmth of the hot springs at local spas, visitors can also register for a free shuttle bus to Fugui Cape Lighthouse to join the carnival activities from designated locations at 3:00 PM on December 31 and 4:30 AM on January 1. The nearby Tienlai Hot Spring Resort is also recruiting Christmas “naked” grandpas — just wear red swim trunks or a swimsuit between December 23 and January 1 to enjoy an ice and snow hot spring bath for just 101 NT.

Besides watching the last sunset of the year or the first sunrise of the new year at the carnival site, there will also be spectacular nighttime stunt kite shows and Earth music African drum performances. Limited-edition coupons for the ice and snow hot spring baths and blessed onsen tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet) sponsored by Tienlai Hot Spring Resort will also be given out.
