A peach blossom paradise blooms in vivid pink hues—spring’s floral spectacle takes center stage

Located at high altitude, Fushoushan Farm is a renowned flower-viewing destination, offering different seas of blossoms across the seasons. Alongside the wave of pink that swept through February—with cherry blossoms continuing to bloom into March and the peach blossoms in the honey peach orchards reaching full bloom—the farm ushers in its most romantic season of peach and pink blooms.

Cherry blossoms at Fushoushan are in full bloom, with the most numerous being the Somei Yoshino variety in the Thousand Cherry Blossoms Garden. The Somei Yoshino blooming period lasts until late March. A few cold showers fall on the delicate pink petals, giving them a teary, delicate charm, while vast swaths of pinkish-white cherry blossoms create a sea of blooms that fill the farm with a romantic Japanese drama atmosphere.

Meanwhile, about 30–40% of the peach blossoms at Fushoushan Farm have already opened, with the peak bloom expected to begin in mid-March and continue through the end of the month. By then, the scenery will resemble the idyllic peach blossom forest described by Tao Yuanming in “The Peach Blossom Spring”: “Suddenly I came upon a peach grove… stretching for hundreds of steps on both banks, with no other kinds of trees in sight, fragrant grass fresh and lovely, and fallen petals strewn in profusion.” It’s definitely a splash of pink spring splendor not to be missed in spring.

The peach trees at Fushoushan Farm are all dwarfed for easier fruit picking. When the peach blossom season arrives, stepping into the orchard means having shy blooms all around you. Breathe in the crisp mountain air, admire the lush green grounds, and gaze at the branches covered in pink blossoms—it feels as if you’ve truly stepped into Tao Yuanming’s utopian peach blossom paradise, enchanted by the scenery and forgetting worldly concerns.
