Known for its horse farms, Taichung’s Houli joins in the Christmas cheer this year. The “Houli Oh Yeah! Christmas Party” starts tonight (12/23) at 7:00 PM at the Houli Zhen’an Temple Plaza (next to the Houli District Office). Santa’s reindeer will be replaced by majestic horses, and Taichung Mayor Hu Zhiqiang is set to arrive in a horse-drawn carriage. The public can also enjoy free rides on the coolest new Christmas supercar horses!

Surrounded by colorful floral arrangements, the event will include performances by a Gaojia opera troupe, clown acts from the Cirque du Soleil, as well as local wind instrument virtuosos playing classic Christmas tunes such as “O Holy Night” and “Beautiful Small Town.” White wine and snacks will also be served.

Additionally, a limited-edition cultural and creative product — the “O Holy Night Centennial Memorial Music Box” — will be launched. Upon opening, it plays these two Christmas melodies, and the music box’s diorama features Houli’s four treasures: “saxophone,” “majestic horses,” “Christmas flowers,” and “wine cellar,” along with Christmas motifs, offering strong local character and commemorative value. A prize quiz will also be held on-site.
The entire event is expected to run until 9:00 PM. Those looking to celebrate Christmas early are encouraged to head over as soon as possible.
