The list of winners for the “Go High Kaohsiung Players ‘Grid’ Duel – Kaohsiung Travel Expert Open Recruitment Event,” organized by the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau, has been announced. After a preliminary selection, 23 travel bloggers visited Kaohsiung for a five-day, four-night trip. From the travel journals they submitted, eight distinctive winners were selected, with Lin Peiyao, Chen Junnan, and Xu Honghui taking the top honors, and the remaining five receiving honorable mentions. Among the over 350 articles submitted by participants, the four most popular attractions were Pier-2 Art Center, E-Da World, Meinong, and Cijin. These spots showcase Kaohsiung’s art and culture, ethnic diversity, harbor charm, and shopping and leisure experiences, serving as a travel guide for those visiting the city.

The selection event was divided into three categories: Masters Showdown, Family Fun, and Passionate Duel. The 23 finalists were each required to provide more than 15 travel entries about Kaohsiung. The judges then selected the final eight winners from these submissions, with each category winner receiving a NT$60,000 prize and honorable mentions getting NT$30,000. The winners come from all over Taiwan. For instance, Chen Junnan, the winner of the Family Fun category, is from Caotun Township, Nantou County. His blog “Holiday Farmers’ Paparazzi Life Journal” has garnered over 320,000 views. His travel plan started from the suburban areas of Greater Kaohsiung such as Liouguei, Baolai, and Jiasian, eventually making their way to the city center. Xu Honghui, the winner of the Passionate Duel category, took the opportunity to thoroughly explore all of Greater Kaohsiung during the competition, not only gaining an in-depth understanding of the city but also falling in love with the hospitality of the locals.

Over the course of nearly a month, participants in this event explored the tourist attractions across Greater Kaohsiung, uncovering many hidden gems unknown to most.
