This year’s “Taipei’s Most EXCITING New Year’s Eve” countdown party, hosted by Taipei City Government, will feature Dee Shu (Hou Pei-chen) and the newly crowned Best Variety Show Hosts at the Golden Bell Awards — HAO JIAO XIANG QI (HowHow & Jia Jia), keeping the public company from 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM the next day in front of Taipei City Hall. In a first, the event will be livestreamed globally in partnership with YouTube, the world’s largest video-sharing platform.

This year’s “Taipei’s Most EXCITING New Year’s Eve” countdown party boasts three highlights: “biggest names,” “most exciting,” and “best giveaways.” The star-studded lineup kicks off with the energetically enduring Taipei countdown veterans — Mayday — while Grasshopper makes their first-ever performance in Taiwan. Most notably, Show Lo will bring the full energy of his “Dance Dance Dance” concert to the stage. Also performing are MP Magic Power, Ding Dang, Da Mouth, Brown, Stanley Huang, Yuki Hsu, Joker Xue, Yoga Lin, Liu Zi-qian, and Yen-j. The 6-hour show promises non-stop excitement. The program will feature an electronic dance party format, getting everyone on their feet from the start and incorporating, for the first time, the light show from Taipei 101. The aim is to get tens of thousands of attendees dancing alongside the iconic skyscraper for the “most exciting” New Year’s Eve ever.

In addition, simply showing up at the event gives you a chance to score “the best” freebies. Alongside the most high-tech LED message sticks, the party will also hand out 49,000 free gifts including inflatable sticks, red envelopes, heat packs, and light-up pens — an amazing haul!

Taipei City Government has announced that there will be three phases of traffic control on the evening of December 31st during the countdown event. The public is urged to leave home early and make use of public transportation to get to the venue. Those taking the MRT are advised to get off at Taipei City Hall Station and walk to the site.
