This year, ringing in the New Year in Changhua will be extra romantic!” “Changhua Illuminated and Glorious – 2012 Changhua New Year’s Eve Gala” will be held on December 31 at 7 PM at the Changhua County Stadium. County Magistrate Cho Po-yuan said that the event will prepare 10,000 roses. As long as the public arrive early, they can receive one rose each (limited quantity, while supplies last). Additionally, 100 couples who got married on December 31, 2011, or January 1, 2012, can sign up, and 10 couples will be drawn to receive 99 roses each, symbolizing everlasting love.

This New Year’s Eve event has specially invited the celebrity couple Harlem Yu and Grace Ko to serve as hosts. The evening will also feature exciting performances by the newly appointed floral industry ambassadors – the flowerYOUNG era girls. Popular singer Tseng Jing-wen, who made her debut with her first album after competing on a singing competition show, “Otaku Goddess” Tofu Pai (Tsai Huang-ju), as well as talented singers who starred in this year’s film Seediq Bale such as Luo Mei-ling, the funny and gifted singer Kang Kang, Golden Melody Taiwanese pop king Weng Li-you, the hottest Super Idol singer Zhu Li-jing, Yang? Shi, and popular singer Huang Si-ting will take turns performing. Additionally, the long-absent Hong Kong superstar Jordan Chan will also come to Changhua to celebrate with the audience.
Besides roses, the event will also offer concert glow sticks and 4,000 tree saplings for the public to claim. Moreover, by presenting three unified invoices from purchases made within Changhua County during November–December of this year at the Changhua County Local Tax Bureau booth, participants can exchange for a beautifully designed event commemorative hat (limited quantity). The organizers will donate the public’s heartfelt invoices to charitable organizations. On the day, there will be agricultural specialty product exhibitions and food stalls set up in the red brick area in front of the sports plaza.
