Following the earlier launch of its professional flagship model, the D4, Nikon has now introduced the FX full-frame 135mm format D800/D800E — boasting the world’s highest pixel count in this class. The Nikon D800/D4 offer enhanced video capabilities, providing professional imaging creators with an even better selection of equipment. In addition to recording videos in FULL HD resolution, the cameras feature stereo microphone and headphone jacks, and are compatible with Nikkor lenses. They will go on sale in Taiwan simultaneously with the global release on March 22. The D800 is priced at NT$94,900, while the D800E is priced at NT$103,900.

The Nikon D800 is equipped with a newly developed FX-format CMOS image sensor, whose core value lies in delivering image quality comparable to that of medium-format cameras. Despite its compact body and fast, convenient operation, the high-pixel sensor still supports recording in FULL HD 1920x1080 at 30p. Coupled with high-sensitivity image processing, it maintains image clarity even when shooting in low-light conditions.
The Nikon D800 features the brand-new third-generation EXPEED 3 image processing engine, along with a next-generation 91,000-pixel RGB metering sensor and autofocus module, offering a vastly improved user experience. It can achieve autofocus easily even in dimly lit settings, and the viewfinder can automatically detect faces for autofocus. Previously, using telephoto lenses with converters would disable autofocus, but the new autofocus module in both the D800 and D4 allows autofocus at up to 11 points even when using telephoto lenses and converters at maximum aperture F/8 — a feature that will be especially convenient for wildlife and nature photographers.
