Chiayi’s super-popular landmark, the Taiping Cloud Ladder suspension bridge, has sparked heated discussions and attracted many visitors since its opening. With an altitude of 1,000 meters, the views during the day stretch across the Chiayi-Pingtung Plain all the way to the Taiwan Strait.

Erjian Mountain is located in Longyan Village, Meishan Township, Chiayi County, and is a subsidiary peak of Dajian Mountain, standing at an elevation of 1,274 meters. Starting the hike from Zhuzaicen, you follow along the ridge of Dajian Mountain, pass the highest triangulation point of Dajian Mountain, and then gradually descend to a great resting spot for hikers. Heading toward Gukeng, you can overlook the Chiayi-Pingtung Plain and rows of betel nut trees; facing Meishan, you can gaze down into the valley and tea plantations while also catching a distant view of Caoling—offering truly spectacular vistas.

The Air Library is a highly popular Meishan attraction recently. Rather than housing books, it stores the ubiquitous air of Meishan. The semi-open space functions as both a scenic spot and a café. Visitors don’t have to make a purchase to take photos and enjoy the beauty of the library and Meishan’s nature. The space also offers a variety of meals, from breakfast to afternoon tea, with plenty of choices.
