The selection results for the "Taiwan's Top 10 Small Tourist Towns," organized by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, have been released. Sanyi in Miaoli County, which ranked second in the public vote, was unexpectedly left out of the list, while Lukang in Changhua County, originally ranked fourth from the bottom in the public vote, made it into the top ten.

According to the Tourism Bureau, the final list in alphabetical order is: "Mazu Culture in Dajia District" (Taichung County), "President Town in Daxi" (Taoyuan County), "Beitou - The Charming Town of Taipei" (Taipei City), "Anping - Where Taiwan’s Name Originates" (Tainan City), "Houpu - The Quaint Old Town of Kinmen" (Kinmen County), "Meinong - Where Beauty and Warmth Abound" (Kaohsiung City), "Lukang - Crafts, Cuisine, and Historic Sites" (Changhua County), "Jiji - Train Impressions - Stepping into the Breeze of Jiji" (Nantou County), "Shueinandong - The Hidden Mining Towns of Ruifang" (New Taipei City), and "Jiaoxi - A Wellness Hot Spring Town" (Yilan County).
Although Sanyi in Miaoli did not make the top ten, it was still honored as the "Small Town with the Most Distinctive Local Character." Additionally, Ruisui in Hualien won the title of "Cleanest and Tidiest Tourist Small Town," while Xinyi District in Taipei City was named the "Small Town with the Greatest International Tourism Potential." The ten selected small tourist towns and the three featured towns will each receive a prize of NT$500,000 and will also be highlighted in future international promotional efforts by the Tourism Bureau. Towns that were not selected, including Beigan in Matsu, Liuqiu in Pingtung, Magong in Penghu, and Luye in Taitung, have all been listed as towns with tourism potential.
