The "Electric Scooter Trial Operation Plan" promoted by Pingtung County Government on Xiaoliuqiu officially launches on March 17. In the initial phase of operation, 300 electric scooters will be available for tourists to rent on the island, with four battery exchange stations set up across the island, striving to make Xiaoliuqiu a carbon-free tourist island.

Xiaoliuqiu receives approximately 260,000 tourists per year, and scooters are the main mode of transportation for visitors. To reduce human pollution and lower carbon emissions, the first batch of electric scooters will be launched on the 17th. Initially, four battery exchange stations will be set up in Baisha, Dafu, Wugui Cave, and Zhongshan Road in Liuchiu Township to address charging issues. The number of electric scooters will be increased according to tourist demand in the future. The results of the trial operation will also serve as a basis for evaluating the full replacement of fuel-powered scooters on Xiaoliuqiu in the future, turning this island rich in precious natural resources into a carbon-free tourist destination.
To allow more people to experience electric scooters, a "Green Energy 101: The New Generation of Mobility" electric scooter launch ceremony will be held on Xiaoliuqiu tomorrow morning (17th), inviting a hundred green energy riders to be the first to experience an electric scooter island tour around Xiaoliuqiu. The public is welcome to visit Xiaoliuqiu to ride quiet, pollution-free electric scooters and enjoy a refreshing, carbon-free island cycling adventure.
The rental fee for electric scooters is NT$300 on weekdays and NT$400 on holidays. By filling out a questionnaire survey, users can enjoy a NT$100 discount on the rental fee.
