Easier access to the Chimei Museum now possible ! New T-bike stations in Tainan to launch in early August

Tainan continues to expand its public bicycle rental system “T-bike,” and now the Chimei Museum will also get a station ! According to Tainan City Government plans, around 10 new rental sites — including the Chimei Museum and the Southern Taiwan Science Park — are expected to be completed by the end of July. These will also connect with city bus routes, making commuting more convenient for residents and offering seamless transit options for tourists.

Tainan’s T-bike system is divided into two types: tourism-focused T-bikes and general-purpose T-bikes. The former, managed by the Tourism Bureau, are mainly set up around tourist attractions — such as Anping Tree House and Baihe in Houpi — while the latter, overseen by the Tourism Bureau as well, are stationed at key transportation hubs, schools, and government offices to serve commuters.

Based on usage projections, around 10 new rental stations — including those near the Chimei Museum and the Southern Taiwan Science Park — are planned to be in place by the end of July, with the service launching in August. The total number of stations is expected to reach 50 by the end of the year.
