Wacoal Corporation's fourth "Kyo no Ondokoro," located south of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, officially opened on March 30, 2019. It is a traditional Kyoto-style townhouse renovated into a guesthouse.

All four "Kyo no Ondokoro" townhouses owned by Wacoal are conveniently located, making it easy for guests to explore any part of this ancient city of Kyoto. During the stay, the townhouse is for private use by guests only, giving the feeling of truly living in Kyoto.
Wacoal launched the "Kyo no Ondokoro" project to address a social challenge Kyoto currently faces: the decreasing number of traditional Kyoto-style residential houses.
Therefore, the company rents such townhouses and renovates them into accommodations suitable for travelers. These townhouses operate as guesthouses for over ten years before being returned to the owners after renovation. The design of "Kyo no Ondokoro" aligns with the Japanese lifestyle, ensuring that even after being used as a guesthouse for over a decade, the houses remain suitable for the owners' future residence.
In this way, guests staying at "Kyo no Ondokoro" also contribute to preserving the landscape of this ancient city.
