The northern surfing mecca—Toucheng, every hot summer, surfers along the coast are as numerous as a swarm of fish crossing a river, creating a bustling scene. The Toucheng Township Office will also hold a series of events for the "2012 Toucheng Ocean Culture Tourism Festival" on June 9–10 at Kowloon-Hong Kong Beach. These include the "Ocean Music Awards" featuring performances by artists and bands such as Wei Ruyun, Lu Jiali, Taiwan Shuang Band, and KING LADY, as well as the Lanyang Sea Swim, beer drinking, and surfing competitions—all cool ocean activities to fight the summer heat.

The Ocean Music Awards in this event will feature performances by artists and groups such as Wei Ruyun, Lu Jiali, Taiwan Shuang Band, and KING LADY. During the event period, there will also be a "Farm and Fishery Tourism Product Exhibition and Sales Fair" combining farms, homestays, and gourmet food, the Wushi Port surfing competition, and the "2012 Lanyang Sea Swim – Towards Turtle Mountain" with a thousand participants. Other highlights include street performances of century-old traditional skills, the "Hundred People Fishing Net" experience of beach fishing, free sandcastle tool giveaways for family sandcastle building, an exhibition of fishing village artifacts from Turtle Island, and more. Additionally, the "International Paragliding Competition" will be held at Waiao Beach from June 12–18.

In addition, during the event period, free shuttle bus services will be provided, with routes including Dianpu–Wushi Port and Toucheng–Shicheng. The service runs from Monday to Saturday, while on weekends, the Yilan Dynamic Bus Line 131 will also provide transportation.
