5,000 runners to gather at Yangmingshan for trail race; registration opens June 4

The popular Yangmingshan Trail Race is back. The “2012 Yangmingshan Cross-Country Trail Race” is scheduled to start at 6:00 AM on Sunday, July 15, 2012. Participants will be divided into 13 age groups. All running and sports enthusiasts are welcome to sign up. There are two categories in this event: the Cross-Country Trail Race (21 km) and the Public Fun Run (5.45 km), with a total of 5,000 participants. The Cross-Country Trail Race has a limit of 3,000 runners, with a registration fee of NT$500 per person; the Public Fun Run is limited to 2,000 participants, with a registration fee of NT$300 per person.

The professional “Cross-Country Trail Race” route starts from the main parking lot of Zhongshan Building on Yangmingshan, goes via Yangjin Highway, and makes a round trip on the Zhuzishan Road wind gap section, covering a total distance of 21 kilometers. Participants who might not have enough time to enjoy the beautiful scenery can opt to take the No. 108 sightseeing bus to visit other recreational spots such as the Visitor Center, Yangming Shuwu, Erziping, Lengshuikeng, and Qingtian Gang, taking in the beautiful summer scenery of Yangmingshan National Park.

 

Race registration is open from June 4 to June 14, and will be conducted entirely online. Participants should complete the registration form in the online registration area, pay by credit card online, or note down the payment reference number and pay at a convenience store via the Uni-President iBon system.
