The Taipei Gourmet Exhibition runs from now until the 15th at the Taipei Expo Park’s Splendor Pavilion. With over 160 exhibitors participating, in addition to international light cuisine cooking demonstrations and fruit carving championship shows, there are five cooking classes scheduled daily. The event also offers special promotions such as “Exchange Receipts for Gourmet Treats,” “Early Bird Discounts,” and “Spending for Prizes.” Exhibitors are providing discounts as low as 18% of the original price, allowing everyone to enjoy delicious food and delicacies even in the sweltering summer heat.

The Taipei Gourmet Exhibition runs daily from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM from now until the 15th, and has launched a “Exchange Receipts for Gourmet Treats” campaign. Visitors can exchange their receipts from May to July 2011 for free pineapple cakes, truffle chocolate cakes, large grass shrimp, and other food and ingredients at the stage area at 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM daily. As part of the “Early Bird Discount,” the first 100 people in line each day starting at 10:30 AM will receive a gift of organic rice.
In addition, visitors who collect stickers by spending at the five themed zones—“Themed Restaurants,” “Shopping District Cuisine,” “Delicious Snacks,” “Specialty Souvenirs,” and “City Specialty Foods”—can participate in the “Spending for Prizes” activity upon collecting three different stickers. Prizes include knife sets, health lingzhi mushroom packages, and meal vouchers from several restaurants in Taipei. Moreover, exhibitors are offering numerous discounts, such as the Love Fruit originally priced at NT$280 for just NT$49 (an 18% discount), the Snow Frog Abalone Health Set originally priced at NT$702 for only NT$399 at the exhibition, and the usually non-discounted famous egg tarts available at a special price of NT$250 for two boxes.
To coincide with the graduation job-seeking season, a recruitment area is also set up on-site, where F&B businesses are offering hundreds of job vacancies, including roles in planning, front desk, cashier, and banquet reservation specialists. Event website: www.facebook.com/taipeiyummy.
