Traveling across Southern Taiwan no longer requires bulky guidebooks. With ease, you can explore six major cities and counties including Kaohsiung, Tainan, Chiayi, Pingtung, and Penghu. The “South Taiwan Travel Passport,” set to be released on the 16th, will have a total of 217,000 copies available for free distribution. In addition to providing information on attractions and a travel calendar for each county and city, the passport also includes 15 themed travel sections and discount coupons for dining and entertainment. It can be picked up at major Taiwan Railway stations, Taiwan High Speed Rail stations, and tourist service desks. Additionally, from August 10 to September 10, an online event titled “Travel Accommodation Voucher Giveaway” will be held. Participants simply need to join the fan page, upload a photo with the travel guidebook, leave a comment about their favorite attraction, and they’ll be entered into a lucky draw.

This travel passport compiles tourism information from Kaohsiung City, Tainan City, Chiayi City and County, Pingtung County, and Penghu County, and offers two-day tour itineraries that introduce local specialty foods, souvenirs, and quality homestays. In addition, the travel guide provides special offers from as many as 133 establishments, including Wandeng Resort, Wu Wanchun Preserved Fruits, Gui Tian Hotel, Yusu MOTEL Group, Renzi Mountain Villa Art Homestay, Mary Flag Drum Cake, Little Kenting Resort, and Meei Zai Fan Sugar. The online version of the handbook lists over 300 discount merchants whose coupons can be printed and used.

The South Taiwan Travel Passport will be available at major Taiwan Railway stations, Taiwan High Speed Rail stations, tourist service desks, highway service areas, Taipei and Kaohsiung MRT stations, and Police Broadcast stations in Taipei and Kaohsiung.placeIt is also available for free and can be downloaded from the Southern United Service Center’s website at www.eysc.ey.gov.tw.
