The meaning of travel comes in countless forms—whether it’s self-discovery, indulging in food and fun, or accomplishing the seemingly impossible. After the preliminary selection round, the “2012 Taiwan New 100 Top Travelers” competition has selected a total of 200 individual entries and 10 corporate entries from over a thousand submissions to advance to the second phase. Online voting is now open. The first prize in the individual category will win a 10-day trip to Kenya in East Africa, and participants who vote online may also have a chance to win prizes worth over NT$100,000, including hot spring hotel vouchers.

This “Top 100 Travelers” event is jointly organized by MOOK Publishing, in collaboration with its travel magazine TRAVELER Luxe旅人志 and the travel service platform Tripass Scenic Spots. In the first phase, there were 1,128 individual entries and 107 corporate entries submitted, including many famous bloggers, past winners of the travel meaning competition, seasoned domestic and international travelers, and major companies such as the Din Tai Fung Group. After the preliminary selection, 200 individual entries and 10 corporate entries were chosen to advance to the second phase—the “public voting” stage—which is now open for voting until August 25.

The top three winners in the individual category will receive a 10-day East African Kenya exploration trip, a 5-day stay at Korea’s W HOTEL, and a round-trip flight ticket on Korean Air between Taipei and Seoul, respectively. Other prizes include a high-end CASIO digital camera and American Express traveler’s checks, with total prizes valued at over NT$1 million.
