Having been held for three consecutive years、the world’s only “Kinmen Tunnels Music Festival” will stage a total of six concerts on October 13–14. This year, cellist Chang Cheng-chieh will serve as artistic director, and the festival will also feature outstanding Austrian violinist Regina Florey, delivering a romantic and elegant musical feast for visitors. Registration is by appointment and is now open. Music lovers who wish to enjoy concerts in the tunnels shouldn’t miss out.

The Kinmen Tunnels Music Festival was first launched in 2009 and is now entering its fourth year. Built for military purposes, the Chiahshan Tunnels are granite caverns that form a naturally acoustic space. Coupled with shimmering waters and a romantic, elegant musical experience, the festival has consistently offered visitors a uniquemusicalexperience.This year’s concerts will take place on10November13and14, with three events scheduled each day. The first session runs from10:30to11:10; the second from11:30to noon12:10; and the third from13:30to14:10, making a total of6concerts over the two days.
Musicians performing at this year’s festival include Wu Ting-yu, current principal violinist of the National Symphony Orchestra; Ho Chun-heng, principal viola of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra; and Jiang Chi-chen, renowned for her breathtaking Western vocal performances. The first day will feature soprano and string ensemble performances, while the second day will highlight the popular string quartet.
Registration is now open for appointments, with a limit of 250 attendees per session. Participants must be aged 7 or above; those between 7 and 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Due to the special nature of the venue, elderly visitors should ensure they are able to walk safely before registering.
