67-meter dual-park cycling bridge completed: safer biking to historic sites and alleyways

 The dual-park cycling bridge, linking Guting Riverside Park and various attractions in Wanhua, was completed in late April. It not only offers a more effortless and convenient cycling route but also features scenic riverside views along the way, making it ideal for planning a bike trip.

The original drainage bridge outside the embankment of the dual-park pumping station had a steep slope and a narrow 3-meter-wide cycling path, where cyclists had to dodge speeding cars and motorcycles, creating dangerous conditions. The new 67-meter-long, 6-meter-wide dual-park cycling bridge is dedicated exclusively to cyclists and pedestrians, effectively separating people from vehicles. Whether biking or strolling, the experience is now safer and more comfortable than before.

Located near the Huajiang Wild Duck Nature Park, the lighting and fixtures on the dual-park cycling bridge have been professionally designed to avoid disrupting the ecological routines of aquatic life. Standing on the bridge and gazing at the Xindian River, the vast riverside scenery and lush greenery are truly refreshing.

Heading south from the “Dual-Park Cycling Bridge,” you can reach Guting Riverside Park, which has been selected as one of the “Top 10 Must-Visit Riverside Parks with Installations in Taipei and New Taipei.” The park features numerous installation artworks that are popular photo spots. Nearby attractions include the Gongguan Night Market, Baozangyan, the Hakka Cultural Park, and the Taipei Water Park.

Additionally, you can plan visits to Longshan Temple, the Bopiliao Historical Block, the Taiwan Sugar Factory, and other attractions, experiencing the cultural charm of the area. You can also walk about 20 minutes from the Ximending Shuimen Water Gate to reach the Huaxi Street Night Market. Visitors can plan a full-day riverside cycling trip during the weekend.

Transportation information for Dual-Park Riverside Park:
MRT: Take the MRT to Longshan Temple Station, exit and walk along Section 2 of Huannan South Road to the end, then turn onto Changshun Street and enter via the New No. 4 Water Gate.
By bike: You can bike north from Guting Riverside Park or south from Dadaocheng Wharf.
1. U-Bike rental stations: Exit 1 of Longshan Temple MRT Station, Changshun Street and Section 2 of Huannan South Road intersection, and Longshan Elementary School.
2. Riverside bicycle rental stations: Jinguang Rental Station at Guting Riverside Park, and Dadaocheng Wharf Riverside Bicycle Rental Station.
3. Parking: Between Wanban Bridge and the New No. 4 Evacuation Gate (end of Changshun Street). Next to Huacui Bridge near the New No. 3-2 Evacuation Gate.
