Starting September 1 this year, Hong Kong has allowed Taiwanese travelers to pre-register for entry online free of charge. Recently, tourism operators have launched various promotional packages, with an estimated 20,000 travelers visiting Hong Kong in September. To cash in on this wave of travel demand, banking institutions have partnered with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to launch Cathay Pacific free independent travel packages from now until January 15 next year. The offer includes 2-night 3-day trips starting from just NT$6,888 (before tax), plus a limited-edition gift pack worth NT$8,888.

Taiwan Shin Kong Bank’s Senior Vice President of Payment Finance, Shaina Xia, stated that travel-related spending accounts for about 20% of Shin Kong credit card transactions. This first wave of Hong Kong free independent travel packages offers “end-to-end” benefits, including interest-free installment payments, complimentary travel gift packs, 2% cashback rewards for card spending over a certain amount in Hong Kong during the campaign period, as well as chances to win grand prizes such as unlimited annual round-trip Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong, and unlimited annual entry tickets to Ocean Park or Hong Kong Disneyland by sharing photos. In the future, exclusive deals for destinations such as Japan and Singapore will also be introduced for cardholders.
The limited-edition gift pack given free with the purchase of this package includes Hong Kong food and shopping discount coupons, a Swarovski crystal ballpoint pen from Cathay Pacific, a Hong Kong travel guide, a premium gift bag from Hong Kong’s Langham Place Mall, and a free Debola Spa experience voucher for the first 400 early birds. While traveling in Hong Kong, you can also enjoy perks such as small gifts from specific hotels for check-ins or buy-one-get-one-free drinks at selected Lan Kwai Fong establishments. After returning home, simply upload your travel photos to the Shin Kong event website and ask friends to like them. For every 10 likes, you get one raffle entry. Aside from the grand prize of unlimited annual round-trip Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong, the top three users with the most likes will receive additional cashback rewards of NT$15,000, NT$10,000, and NT$5,000 respectively.
