The Tianmu business district, which attracts a large expat population, will hold its fourth annual “What’s Up, Tianmu? 4” Halloween event at Tianmu Sports Park. Breaking from past years’ focus on Western spooky figures, this year’s theme is “Clash of Spirits: East Meets West,” blending the festive atmosphere of a Taiwanese temple fair with the Western Halloween carnival. Expect to see parades featuring characters such as the Taoist deity Nezha, vampires, and pumpkin monsters, joining children and adults alike for a stroll through Tianmu.

The event also features various themed activities, such as the Halloween Fantasy House, Haunted Story Room, Tianmu Magic Market, Energetic Music Concert, and Witch Fortune Telling. Local shops have also crafted eight uniquely spooky Halloween dishes: Satan Beer, Struck-by-Lightning Teletubbies, Ghost Face, Fuafua Chiffon Cake, Night Wraith, Pumpkin Mask Bread, Bloody Vanilla Chicken with Vein Noodles, and Sunshine Rainbow Kids vs. Vampires — all waiting for brave diners to try.
Additionally, “getting spooky” isn’t just for kids. This year’s Halloween costume trend has also caught on among young professionals. On October 27 and 28, customers can enjoy exclusive discounts at Tianmu’s participating stores by presenting their Taipei Shopping Card. Stores such as Tai Long DIY, vivo, YINSHI Silver Jewelry, and jadore are offering 10%–10.5% off, along with many costume-themed items available at 10% off or more. From now until the event, customers who spend over NT$500 at any Tianmu business district partner store will be eligible to enter a lucky draw. On November 15, prizes worth a total of NT$100,000 will be awarded.
