The 3rd annual Melon Festival cultural event will be held on December 1st and 2nd at the plaza of the Shanlin District Farmers’ Association Supply and Marketing Department. During the event, from 09:00 to 17:00 daily, there will be an exhibition and sale of premium melons, fruits, vegetables, and local specialties, an entrance art installation made from melon and fruit creations using agricultural ingredients, handmade crafts by local farmers, Hakka floral fabric lanterns, gourd carving parent-child DIY workshops, as well as newly launched indigenous decorative art DIY workshops. A wide variety of delicious melon-based foods will also be available for visitors to sample for free, and popular singer Hsu Fu-kai has been invited to perform live.

The melon products of Shanlin District are of exquisite quality and exceptional taste. Varieties such as Red Boy papaya, First-Class pumpkin, cucumbers, loofahs, and bitter melons all draw the sweet nectar of the earth from the fertile land of Shanlin, growing abundantly along the vines — each one truly a premium delight. On-site, customers who spend over NT$200 can not only get priority access to parent-child DIY workshops but will also receive a lottery ticket to participate in prize draws.
