The biennial Pas-ta’ai Festival is about to take place at the end of November. It is the most significant ceremony of the Saisiyat people, also known as the Bashatai Festival. The rituals begin in the evening at the ceremonial site in Xiangtian Lake. In the past, due to transportation constraints, it was difficult for the public to participate in this grand traditional festival of the Saisiyat. To coincide with this year’s event, local bus operators will run 24-hour non-stop services from 12 noon on November 30 to 3:00 a.m. on December 3, with one-way tickets priced at 100 NTD. HowToTrip’s Nanzhuang Line, Xianshan Line, and Xiangtian Lake Line are also offering a special discount ticket package at just 99 NTD, allowing the public to join the exciting biennial Pas-ta’ai Festival and witness the mysterious and solemn ceremonies of the Saisiyat people.

For the first time, Miaoli County Government is coordinating with the Pas-ta’ai Festival. A “Pro Guide Leads the Way: Explore Nanzhuang with HowToTrip” bloggers’ meet-up is scheduled for 3:30–5:00 p.m. on December 1st in front of the Nanzhuang Visitor Center plaza. In addition to giving each attendee a 2013 limited-edition “Beautiful Mountains and Clear Waters” diary, the event will also feature an exclusive preview of a performance of traditional Saisiyat dances by the “Gaga O’Lan Cultural Tribe,” along with a prize quiz session. Additionally, six well-known travel influencers including Foodie Yunyun and Haishui Princess will be present to share their experiences using HowToTrip, covering everything from delicacies on Nanzhuang Old Street to the mysterious allure of Xiangtian Lake and other hidden gems. Those eager for an immersive local experience can sign up in advance—HowToTrip has reserved 100 spots for fans, and is also giving away a hand-drawn “Discover Nanzhuang” square scarf.
Additionally, to coincide with this biennial Pas-ta’ai Festival, a special discount ticket package is being launched for HowToTrip’s Nanzhuang Line, Xianshan Line, and Xiangtian Lake Line. Visitors can explore attractions such as Nanzhuang, Xianshan, and Xiangtian Lake at a discounted price of 99 NTD. After attending the bloggers’ meet-up in Nanzhuang via HowToTrip, travelers can continue on to Xiangtian Lake to join the Pas-ta’ai Festival.
