Fujita Kanko Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has announced the establishment of an office in Taipei, which officially began operations on December 1. According to statistics from the Japan National Tourism Organization, Taiwan is Japan’s third-largest source of inbound tourists, following China and South Korea. Additionally, Taiwan is considered by Japan as one of the four most favored overseas travel destinations due to its accessibility and convenience. In 2011, Taiwan and Japan signed an “Open Skies Agreement,” significantly increasing the number of flight routes and flights between the two countries, which is expected to further boost mutual tourist visits.

Fujita Kanko Inc. operates in various sectors including hotels, leisure and entertainment, conference planning, wedding services, and banquet venues, with over 50 related businesses spread across Japan. The official establishment of its Taipei office aims to enhance awareness among Taiwanese travelers and other major corporations about the group, leveraging its professional services in the industry to explore the Taiwanese market.
 
The Japanese Tourism Office in Taiwan, once one of the largest tourism associations in Taiwan, was closed in 2011 and integrated into the Taipei Office of the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, a public interest incorporated foundation. The opening of Fujita’s Taipei office signifies that there remains significant potential for tourism development between Taiwan and Japan. Fujita Kanko Inc.
