In response to overwhelming public interest, the Taitung County Government’s “Taiwan Cycling Trail – Join the Ride” program, featuring five bus-and-bike tour routes, will continue until February 28. The routes include Scenic Mountain & Sea Tour in Taitung, Classic Rural Dragon Field Tour, Town Loop Guanshan Tour, Fields of Rice Pools in Chishang, and Azure Sea & Sky Chenggong Tour. Each tour requires a minimum of 10 participants to depart, and costs just 555 NT$ per person for a full day of Taitung sightseeing.

The bus-and-bike tours operate with two weekday sessions and three weekend sessions as a general rule. Each of the five routes is themed to guide participants by bike to visit sugar refineries, art villages, historic Japanese dormitories, Guanshan Water Park, Chishang Old Street, Brown Highway, and Sanxiantai. In addition to taking in the unique local landscapes, some routes include lunch at restaurants selected through group dining PK competitions, where you can savor local specialties. Moreover, all participants will receive a “Taitung Card,” which offers discounts at around 400 eateries and attractions across Taitung.
The 555 NT$ registration fee covers accident insurance, lunch, bike rental, site-guided commentary, entrance fees, and activity-related expenses. Sign-ups are available by phone, email, online, or on-site. Each route will run with a minimum of 10 participants, and each bus accommodates up to 40 people.
