After Typhoon Morakot, Pingtung County Government actively promoted the "water nurturing and electricity generation" project in the coastal areas of Linbian. The once-devastated Xmu of farmland now not only hosts rows of solar panels facing the sun, but the county government has also collaborated with local communities to create a wetland ecological park beneath the solar panels. The first step is to rally 50 families to plant saplings of hope and release fish fry of hope within the park on Lantern Festival, February 24. Families will not only create beautiful memories but also bear witness together to the rebirth of this land. Additionally, 11 types of floating walkways created by children and the community will be displayed on-site.

This event will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Lantern Festival, February 24, at Linbian’s new landscape spot – Xiyanpu. Xiyanpu is an artificial wetland under development, located behind Linbian Railway Station in the solar photovoltaic industry zone. To allow more people to understand and participate in the follow-up plans for photovoltaic transformation in coastal subsidence areas, the organizers have designed the “Planting Hope Trees” and “Releasing Happy Fish” activities, and have prepared adoption plaques for participating families. Visitors can take photos with the saplings they plant themselves, while on-site explanations on water purification and aquatic food chains will be provided. Advance registration is available for both activities.

To enhance the land efficiency beneath the solar panels, the Linbian Nature and Cultural History Conservation Association has invited fishermen to set up oyster racks, allowing visitors to personally string oysters and experience the rich fishing village culture. Beyond educational science exhibits and fishing village charm, the event also features fun lantern riddles, delicious Lantern Festival treats, and a showcase of premium agricultural and fishery products.
