Do you know which London Underground line is the busiest every morning? And where is the deepest station, dug 58 meters underground? On January 9, 2013, the London Underground, which holds a special place in the hearts of Londoners, officially celebrated 150 years since its opening. The London Underground also took this opportunity to launch a series of events, including 150 little-known milestones in its history. Not only that, but in collaboration with the London Transport Museum, the Underground also organized related activities, including a one-day experience event in April where passengers can take the driver’s seat and live out the thrill of being a train driver. Throughout 2013, each station will also display works by famous British artists, spreading the festive cheer to all commuters.

As early as 1863, the world’s first underground train slowly set off from Paddington and headed for Farringdon Station, 3.5 miles away, marking the beginning of the London Underground. Whether on weekdays or holidays, the always crowded London Underground is going all out this year, with “Happy Birthday” songs set to play throughout the entire year.
