Located in Bali District, New Taipei City, at the estuary where the Tamsui River meets the sea on the left bank, the Sanxia History Museum was established where prehistoric humans were found to have lived 1,800 to 500 years ago, along with significant iron smelting remains. After years of preparation by the New Taipei City Government, it officially opened on April 24, 2003, becoming an important archaeological museum and an educational center promoting knowledge of archaeology, ethnology, and Taiwan’s prehistoric history. With its natural landscape of mountains, sea, and river, plus its uniquely designed architecture, it has long been a popular dating spot for couples and a favorite location for newlyweds to take wedding photos, as well as a prime filming site for idol dramas.
Anyone who has visited the Sanxia History Museum and taken photos within its premises can participate in the “Looking Back at a Decade – Nostalgic Photo Collection” campaign. Participants whose entries meet the theme and specifications will receive a small, exquisite gift. For more details, please visit the official website at www.sshm.tpc.gov.tw.
